Todd & Blair [2011, Part 4]

Tomas: (about Blair) She's furious with me. I would have left her and gone to jail for a crime I didn't commit.
Tea: She can get over that.
Tomas: I think it's about Todd. Maybe she's still in love with him.

Viki: Good morning. I didn't know if you came home last night. So, how did it go with Blair?
Todd: It went.

[Starr sees Blair staring at the picture of the gold balloon wedding]
Starr: What's that?
Blair: Nothing.
Starr: Oh? Is that...yes, it is. The happiest day of your life. At least, that's what you told me.
Blair: Well, too bad you can't live in a picture or a portrait.

Starr: Did Tomas tell you he's in love with you?
Blair: Yeah, he did.
Starr: What about Dad?
Blair: Your father and I have been over for a very long time.
Starr: Oh, is that why he came over last night? Sam told me.
Blair: Actually, he came over to see you and Hope, but you had already taken her out trick-or-treating.
Starr: Sure he did. Is that why he stayed later, Mom? That was just an excuse.
Blair: What, you don't think he wanted to see his granddaughter?
Starr: I'm sure, but that does not change the fact that he is still in love with you. It has been obvious from the minute Dad came back to town.
Blair: You're seeing things.
Starr: Yeah, like Dad kissing you in front of everyone at the movie premiere.
Blair: That was all for show, Starr. He was trying to prove that he was the real Todd Manning.
Starr: Okay. Who did he call, huh, when he got shot and he needed help?
Blair: The biggest sucker he knows.
Starr: No, the person he trusted the most, and you went.
Blair: Well, excuse me if I didn't want to see the father of my children bleed to death.
Starr: And you're positive that's all it was?
[Blair flashes back to when she almost kissed Todd in the cabin]
Starr: Something happened. Yes, it did! I can see it in your face!
Blair: No, he was weak. He was babbling. You know how your father gets when he's like that.
Starr: No matter had happened in life, you and Dad have always had a connection -- always. And it's still there.

Starr: You're not telling me to shut up -- or that I'm crazy for thinking there's still something between you and Dad.
Blair: No, I'm not.

Blair: (about Todd) He was here, like I said, and then all of a sudden, he exploded out of here. He came up with some lame excuse, and then he -- he left.
Starr: Well, Dad has been through a lot.
Blair: Well, you know what? He was like that way before Irene locked him up. He's always been moody and unpredictable.
Starr: Look at what happened when he came back. I mean, we had replaced him. Think about how -- how that made him feel. Maybe he was afraid that you were gonna reject him, and he took off.

Todd: (about Sam) He really needs Blair right now.
Viki: But he likes you. You would be a big help to him.
Todd: What? By getting it on with his mom?

Blair: Sweetheart, your mom is such a mess.
Starr: You are not.
Blair: Yes, I am. I've gone from one horrible relationship to another, and I promised myself I'd learn my lesson. Was gonna focus on you kids, you and the boys, and keep my love life simple. No more complicated, troubled men, but now look at me. I'm -- I've got two of them.

Blair: I think I know what all this is about. You come over here, you tell me that you love me, and then you come and you -- you accuse the father of my children of murdering his brother when don't even have any evidence of it.
Tomas: Do you think this is all about my feelings for you?
Blair: No, I think that you are going after Todd because you think I have feelings for him.

Tomas: You're making it sound like I have some kind of agenda, like this is all about you and Todd.
Blair: I don't know how I would have gotten that idea.

[Tina gives Todd back his estate in court]
Tea: Congratulations, Todd. You got it all back. Everything that belonged to you.
Todd: Well, not everything.

Blair: I told Tomas that I would help in any way I could to help bring Victor's killer to justice, until I found out his number-one suspect was Todd.
Tea: You know, I'm really just trying to stay out of the middle of it.
Blair: Well, I don't think that you can do that. I think it's a little late now, because Tomas made it very clear that he is acting all in your name.
Tea: Blair, what am I supposed to do about that?
Blair: Just tell him to back off Todd.
Tea: What, you think Todd's incapable of --
Blair: I think Todd didn't do it.
Tea: How do you know?
Blair: Because he wouldn't hurt Sam like that.
Tea: Sam?
Blair: Yes. He has a very special connection to that boy. I've seen it. I saw it again at Halloween. I mean, he may have hated Victor, but he's really growing to love the only child that Victor left behind.

Todd: (about Tomas) He just wants me out of the way.
Tea: I don't think that's true.
Todd: Really? Who is he dating?
Tea: You think he's jealous of you?
Todd: He's dating Blair. He sees me as some kind of threat.
Tea: Are you?
Todd: You are the last person I'm going to discuss Blair with.

Tea: (about Blair) Every time she's let you back into her life, you've hurt her.
Todd: No. Don't confuse me with my brother.
Tea: Oh, there's no chance of that.
Todd: I'm just saying, a lot of that wasn't even me.

David: I'm supposed to make sure that Todd Manning stays out of your life forever.
Blair: Dorian sent you all this way to keep Todd away from me?
David: She says it's been on her mind since you pulled that slug out of him.
Blair: He was dying!
David: She wishes you let him.
Blair: He's the father of my children.
David: She said you'd say that. See, she doesn't buy it. She thinks you still have feelings for him.
[Blair doesn't say anything]
David: Uh-huh. You hesitated. She said you'd hesitate.
Blair: So what if I hesitated, okay? I'm with Tomas now. He wants a life with me, a future.
David: And Todd doesn't, so we're done here. I can go.
Blair: It's not that simple, David.
David: Why not?
[Blair has a flashback to bonding with Todd over Halloween]
David: You're hesitating again.

Blair: Todd is afraid of his feelings. He always has been.
David: Even more reason to write him off.
Blair: And he probably thinks I'm with Tomas already, so he's afraid of getting hurt, so I have to make -- I have to make the first move.
David: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What are you saying?
Blair: I'm saying that if I want to know how Todd really feels, I have to find him and make him tell me.
David: You're gonna confront Todd? Why?
Blair: Well, it's like you said. He's not gonna come to me, right?
David: Even more reason to move on with Tomas.
Blair: No, I can't do that. I can't do that until I know where things stand with Todd.

Mr. Calmar: Forgive me, my friend, but is it possible that your motive is personal?
Tomas: What do you mean?
Mr. Calmar: With Todd out of the way, you're guaranteed a future with Blair.

Todd: (to Victor's grave) Things are looking up for me. I'm in the clear with the gun. Tomas is off somewhere, chasing his bilingual tail. Yeah, all I got to do now is get the circulation up with the paper, win back Blair before Tomas gets his hands on her...

Todd: What are you doing here, Vickers? Where's Blair? I need to talk to her.
David: Aah! What about?
Todd: Well, not that it's any of your business, but Blair and I started a conversation on Halloween, and I want to finish it. There's something I need to tell her. Where is she?
David: What's so urgent?
Todd: I want her back.
David: So you want Blair back?
Todd: You're surprised?
David: No, no, no. She's the mother of your children.
Todd: She's more than just that.

Blair: Todd, I -- oh. Tomas, what are you doing here?
Tomas: I could ask you the same question. Why are you here? Really only one reason why you'd come here. That's to see Todd.
Blair: Well, I'm sorry. It looks like you're in here all by your lonesome in someone else's office. Maybe you should explain that to me first. And, um, where's Todd?
Tomas: I don't know.
Blair: You just thought you'd make yourself at home here anyway?

Todd: (to Tomas) I'm not interested in your theories, and neither is Blair. Stop trying to turn her against me.
Blair: He is not trying to do that.
Todd: This is how you seduce her?! You can't seal the deal without having me locked up for killing my own brother?! You need me out of the way?!
Blair: What is wrong with you?! He -- you're not a suspect here. He came here just to warn you that Baker had been released! He's here to protect you, Todd!
Todd: Oh, that's sweet. He your hero? Is that why you like him? He's the exact opposite of me?
Blair: What?! What?! I can't believe that you're so angry about this!
Todd: You know what bothers me is that you're falling for a fraud!

Blair: (to Tomas, about Dorian)She opened my eyes. She made me realize what I want. And I want you.
Todd: That's a lie. You don't want him. You want me.

Blair: (about Dorian) She made me realize that if I wanted to move forward with you, I needed to find out if Todd wanted to move forward with me.
Tomas: What are you saying here, Blair? Because the only thing I'm hearing is that the only reason you want to be with me is because Todd can't tell you how he feels about you.
Blair: No.
Tomas: Then how is it? Would you still be here if Todd said he loved you, he wanted you back?
Blair: That's the point! Todd is never gonna be able to tell me that!

[Todd eavesdrops while Blair declares her love for Tomas]
Blair: (to Tomas) You are a good, decent man. You are the man that I love.
Todd: Come on, Blair. Come clean. Tell the poor sap you're just settling.
Tomas: So you brought me here, kissed me, told me that you wanted to be with me only because you cannot have Todd?
Todd: But you can.
Blair: I'm sorry. Sometimes, when I look at Todd, I can't help but feel something for him.
Todd: So don't even try to stop yourself, then.
Blair: You can see that. I couldn't see that before. You could see that I was putting on the brakes on us because of what I felt for Todd. And I knew that it wasn't fair or honest with me to try to move forward with you if I thought there was anything left between Todd and me.
Todd: There is. Blair, there's everything. There's -- there's a life.
Blair: I had to sort it all out. I had to go to him. I felt like I needed to force him to admit how he felt. But, of course, Dorian said that was never gonna happen. He was never gonna open up.
Todd: Dorian -- that's who you go to for relationship advice?
Blair: Because I actually saw something on Halloween. Halloween, he was here, and, I don't know, I felt like he wanted to say something, something really important. But he just didn't.
Todd: I-I would have. If I'd known -- if I'd known, I would have said something.

Todd: What are you doing here?
Irene: Comforting you through Blair's rejection.
Todd: Blair won't reject me.
Irene: Sounds like she already has.

Todd: Blair loves me. She's in there lying to Delgado. Worse than that, she's lying to herself.
Irene: Is she?
Todd: Yes. And I would have told her how I felt about her on Halloween if you hadn't shown up.
Irene: Is it my fault you didn't say anything to her today at The Sun? Is it my fault that you didn't march in there just now and tell her how you feel? I know you have mommy issues, but you cannot blame your impotence on me. If you were going to act on your feelings for Blair, you would have done it by now.
Todd: Shows you what you know.

Irene: Hello? Tomas, Blair, come out, come out, wherever you are. Where do you think they've gone? What do you think they're doing?
Todd: Blair probably just told Tomas to go away.
Irene: Perhaps to pick up some contraceptives.
Todd: That's gross. Can you shut up?
Irene: Oh, stop being stupid. They're upstairs right now, making love, making a fool out of you and your adolescent notion that you belong with Blair.
Todd: I do belong with Blair.
Irene: Well, then, stop wasting time. Get up there and do something before it's too late.

Irene: Tomas is touching her right now, kissing her, making her his, the woman you love and desire, the mother of your children. The woman you lived for. And if you allow this to go on for one second more, Tomas Delgado will extinguish every memory of you.
Todd: What should I do?
Irene: What you came here to do.

Irene: You'll get over it, with time and the support of a good woman.
Todd: I do hope you mean Blair.

Irene: Go kill Tomas.
Todd: That's what you want.
Irene: That's what we both want.
Todd: I do that, I'm finished. I'll never get Blair.

Todd: I want you to take care of Tomas.
Baker: You're worried about his investigation?
Todd: He's going after Blair.
Blair: (sighs) Oh, this is about a woman?
Todd: Absolutely.

Tea: I think it's great that Blair chose you.
Tomas: But?
Tea: But I know that Todd still has a thing for Blair. And when she tells him that she chose you over him, Todd is gonna be upset and jealous. And with Todd, that's never a good thing.
Tomas: Did Todd tell you he has feelings for Blair?
Tea: Of course not. But when I spoke to him the other day, he went on and on about how you'd been giving him the third degree about Victor's murder. He thinks that you're trying to get him out of the way, because you think he's a threat to you and Blair.
Tomas: Oh, the ego on this man. That's what he said?
Tea: Look, when I asked him if he had any feelings for Blair, he denied having any, which tells me that he wants her back. Poor guy hasn't gotten over her yet.

Todd: Why don't we stop pretending that this has anything to do with your sister and just call it what it is. You want me out of the way so that you can have Blair all to yourself.
Tomas: So, let me get this right. As long as you're around, Blair's yours for the taking. Is that the idea?
Todd: She was my wife. We have children together.
Tomas: She was your wife. Not anymore. She's moved on.
Todd: Yeah, because you had me thrown in a cell for eight years.
Tomas: That's not exactly true, Todd. You and Blair were divorced before I helped you get out of town. And you have been back for months.
Todd: I have a long to-do list. I've been very busy.
Tomas: I really don't need to take out the competition. If Blair wanted to be with you, God bless. I even stepped aside to let the lady make up her mind, and she did. She chose me.
Todd: Oh, don't flatter yourself. She's just mad at me. Blair's mad at me a lot, except when she's not mad at me, like when I saw her at the movie premiere and she kissed me. That's right. You were there. Let me tell you. It's like nothing had changed. Everything was still right there. We have a history. We have kids together.
Tomas: I'm not here to take your kids, Todd.
Todd: You're not taking anything away from me. The only reason she slept with you is because she was mad at me. Don't bother denying it. I was there. I heard the whole thing.
Tomas: You broke into her house.
Todd: Yeah, I wanted to -- I wanted to talk to her.
Tomas: Oh, is that what you call it?
Todd: Well, what do you call it when you break into somebody's house -- investigating?

Blair: (to Dorian) Yep. It's official. Tomas and I are together. We both couldn't be happier.
Starr: What?!
Blair: You know what, Dorian? I really need to go right now. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah. I'll talk to you later. Bye.
Starr: You chose Tomas over Dad??

Blair: (about Todd) I wanted to give him a chance to tell me how he felt before I made my decision.
Starr: What did he say?
Blair: He flew off the handle, accused Tomas of railroading him, which is completely not true. Everybody knows that your father didn't kill uncle Victor. Right? I told your dad that. But he didn't listen. He didn't care. He just -- he went nuts. All right? And watching him do that, sweetheart -- everything just came flooding back to me, all those fits of rage -- his moods, not knowing whether he was in a good mood or a bad mood. I don't want to live like that anymore, all right? I -- I can't live like that anymore. So I needed to make a better, more sane choice in my life, and I chose Tomas. And...he loves me. So, yeah. Tomas and I are together now.
Starr: And how does Dad feel about this?
Blair: You know what? I don't know how your father feels about my decision.
Starr: You didn't tell him?!
Blair: It's none of his business. Besides, it's -- he probably doesn't even care, anyway.
Starr: Of course he would care! He's not gonna be happy about this!
Blair: Well, you know what? That's his problem.

Starr: (about Tomas) Do you love him?
Blair: Yeah. I do.
Starr: More than Dad?
Blair: I loved... loved your daddy. You know that. But I need something different in my life now. I want to be with a man who says if he's gonna be there for me, he means he's gonna be there for me and he will be there for me.
Starr: And that's just enough?

Starr: Do you love Tomas more than you love Dad?
Blair: Of course I still love your dad -- always will...because he gave me you.
Starr: And Jack -- don't forget about him.
Blair: Jack. He's got a whole mess of problems right now. But I can tell you this. Jack definitely does not want me to date your dad.

Todd: I can't let Blair or Tea or the kids think that I killed Victor. They, for whatever reason, loved the guy. I mean, I couldn't stand him, but, I don't know. If they thought I killed him, they'd probably be really mad at me.
Tomas: Not necessarily. With everything you've gone through, Todd, they might understand in time.
Todd: Time while I rot in prison again. No, that -- that's not gonna happen.
Tomas: So now what?
Todd: I think you understand now, what I'm willing to do to protect myself, what I'm willing to do to protect the people that love me.

Tea: I just want to make sure that my brother's the man you really want.
Blair: I chose Tomas. I want Tomas.
Tea: What if Todd wants you back?
Blair: I love Tomas.
Tea: Fine. You love Tomas. Admit it. You love Todd, too.

Blair: (about Todd) He occupied a very big part of my heart for a very long time, but it's over. Tomas is there now, okay?
Tea: Are you sure? 'Cause it took you a while to come up with that strained metaphor.

Tomas: Every time you look at Tea and she wonders why her brother disappeared, even when he promised he would never leave her again, every time McBain doubts my guilt -- and he will -- and every time you try to get close to Blair, only to wonder if she's thinking about me instead of you.
Todd: I can live with it.

Todd: Blair chose Tomas. I missed my chance.
Viki: Oh, God. I'm so sorry. I know this must be breaking your heart.
Todd: What heart?
Viki: The heart that I know is there, that needed healing. I wanted this so much for -- for you. Listen, it doesn't mean it can't still happen, you know?

Viki: (about Todd) He still loves Blair and he wants her back, and now he feels he's missed his chance because she and Tomas are officially together.
Natalie: And now Tomas is officially missing. What a coincidence.

[Blair worries out loud about Tomas being missing]
Blair: Please come back to me.
[The doorbell rings and when Blair answers, it's Todd]

[Todd drops by La Boulaie on Thanksgiving]
Blair: We already ate.
Todd: Yeah, I'm -- I'm not here for food.
Blair: Well, if you want to see the kids, they're in watching television --
Todd: Oh, that's great. Thank you, but, uh, that's not why I'm here, either.
Blair: Okay. What are you here for? Because this is not a good time, actually.
Todd: I heard Tomas took off.
Blair: He didn't take off. He's missing.
Todd: Well, that's why I'm here.
Blair: Right. Bet you're thrilled.
Todd: I'm not thrilled.
Blair: Really? You aren't happy?
Todd: No, Blair. Something hurts you, it hurts me.

Viki: (about Todd) He has a very long history with Blair, and he wanted her back. But she started seeing Tomas.
Natalie: Now Tomas suddenly is missing.
Viki: But to say that Todd is responsible? That is quite a stretch.
Natalie: Is it? Maybe it's not such a stretch, Mom. I mean, you said so yourself -- Todd has history with Blair, and we both know that he would do anything to get her back.

Blair: What if Tomas found Victor's killer? What if the killer shot him? What if he's dead?
Todd: I promise you that that's not true.

Blair: (about Tomas) Why did he disappear on Thanksgiving?
Todd: Well, I don't know. Have you learned to cook in the last eight years? And turkey -- let me tell you something. It's often dry and tasteless. I mean, not everybody likes it as much as you.
Blair: Okay, you know what? This isn't about me!
Todd: Well, it kind of is all about you, right? Because Tomas went to find Victor's killer so that you could be home and you could relax. So, yeah, it's kind of all about you.

Blair: (about Tomas) He would have called me.
Todd: Not necessarily. I mean, that's contact with a civilian, which I'm pretty sure violates a fundamental law, like -- like rule number one in the 007 handbook.
Blair: Oh, okay. I guess you're right about that one.
Todd: Oh, I'm always right.

Blair: You're being really, really supportive. Why?
Todd: What can I say? I turned over a new leaf. Hell, I turned over a whole new branch.
Blair: You keep saying that.
Todd: Well, being locked up in a cell for eight years changes a guy. And one time, when I was there, I did fall down and I bumped my head.

Todd: (about Tomas) Well, you care about the guy, right?
Blair: Yeah. You don't. You made it very clear in your office the other day.
Todd: He's never given me any reason to care about him. I care about you.
Blair: You do?
Todd: Yeah, and you were, you know, doing that thing.
Blair: What?
Todd: That.
Blair: What? What thing?
[Todd points at Blair's brow]
Todd: Right there.
Blair: I... I don't have a - I don't have a little thing there.
Todd: You do.

Todd: Blair, here's the thing. You and I, we are tied together, if for no other reason than because we have children. And -- and for me, if I'm gonna look at a face for the rest of my life, I would prefer that it were not worried and all wrinkly. I'm just saying.
Blair: You're just saying? Really? Really?
Todd: Look, you know, if you care about Tomas, then I care about Tomas.

Blair: (about the kids) If you want to go in, they're right inside watching TV.
Todd: Right.
Blair: They're just watching a parade on the DVR.
Todd: Well, you know, I wasn't there in the beginning, so I probably wouldn't be able to figure out the plot.

Todd: Do you want to get out of here?
Blair: Now?
Todd: Yeah, why not?
Blair: What time is it? I'm sure nothing is even open.
Todd: Doesn't matter. Maybe it'll be snowing, you know? And we can, uh, we'll go by Rodi's -- steal some trays from out back, go sledding on that -- that hill over by the cemetery. You remember that?
Blair: How could I forget?

Blair: Thank you. Um, thank you, you know -- for being -- oh, I'm sorry. I'm just such a -- a bundle of nerves.
Todd: Yeah, most of the time you are.

Todd: A 9mm in Tomas' room? Did John actually, I mean -- oh, this is -- this is crazy.
Blair: What's crazy?
Todd: Never mind. It's probably just a bunch of spy stuff that I don't understand -- like, you know, disarming a bad guy with a tuxedo jacket.

Todd: I went to see Blair.
Viki: Oh. Was she happy to see you?
Todd: Who wouldn't be happy to see me?

Todd: Do you think that I made Tomas disappear?! What exactly are you accusing me of?!
Viki: I am not accusing you.
Todd: What would you call it?
Viki: Todd. I love you, okay? And I know how hard it is for you to love at all. But for you to love and lose? Come on. You're capable of anything.

Todd: You okay? Want me to take you home?
Blair: I'm -- I'm fine. You should worry about Tea.
[Todd looks like that's the last thing he wants to do]
Tea: Worry about me? Please. Why don't you guys get out of here? I'll -- I'll leave soon.
Todd: (to Blair) Can I take you home? Please?
Blair: Okay.

Blair: Thank you for seeing me home.
Todd: No problem. As upset as you are, it's the other drivers in the world who should be thanking me.
