Todd & Blair [2011, Part 1]

[Tomas shows Blair the picture from the gold balloon wedding -- the one he used to paint her portrait]
Blair: Oh, my God.
Tomas: Who's the man in the picture?
Blair: My husband.

[Blair tells Tomas about the gold balloon picture]
Blair: That was a long time ago. We were so happy then.
Tomas: I know.
Blair: I don't understand here. How do you know?
Tomas: How happy you were? It's radiating from that photograph. Look at you. You're glowing.
Blair: That's just the reflection of the gold balloons. That night, Todd told me he was gonna shower me with gold, and a million golden balloons rained down on me.

Blair: So you think I should just accept the fact that a photograph of me and my ex-husband just lands at a flea market here in Paris and then comes back to me in the form of this portrait, and it's all just some kind of strange coincidence?
Tomas: Some people would say there are no coincidences.

Blair: Some people believe in fate. I used to be one of them. Todd and I were outcasts, damaged goods. We found each other, and I thought that we were destined to be together. I guess that explains the 5 marriages to each other. (gesturing to the gold balloon picture) But this one -- it was the real deal.

[Blair gazes at the picture of Todd at the gold balloon wedding]
Blair: Gosh, I had almost forgot what he looked like, you know? He's handsome, but...
Tomas: But?
Blair: I just wonder if I'll ever be as happy as I was in this photograph.

Blair: Maybe I am here looking for something -- you know, a new direction in my life. Maybe that's why I was compelled to follow that painting here -- because it was some kind of adventure. Maybe I'm looking to find what I felt in this photograph.
Tomas: You never know where you'll find what you're looking for.

[Blair goes through the gold balloon wedding photo album Tea found]
Blair: Look at all of these photos. No wonder Tea doesn't want this in her house. It's just you and me all the way through it.
[Blair notices an empty spot and realizes that the picture Tomas had was taken from it]
Blair: Wait a minute. This is missing from the photo album. Todd, are you sure that you didn't take this out...
Todd: Why would I do that?
Blair: I don't know, but -- well, I can't imagine who else would want this photo.

Blair: The day I married you was the happiest I've ever been.
Todd: Are you hitting on me, Blair?
Blair: What? Hitting? You know what? I give up.
Todd: Okay. I'm sorry. It's just the way you were talking about the wedding.
Blair: You know, excuse me for admitting that you made me happy at one time. I mean, truly happy. Granted, it didn't last, but the fact that it actually did happen, it makes me wonder if maybe it could happen again, and you know what, Todd? I would really, really like that.

Blair: (about Tomas) He captured something in that portrait that I've gotta get back.

[Todd finally wakes up after eight years in captivity]
Baker: Sorry about the restraints. It's been a long time since you've moved around, either, and we don't want you to hurt yourself. You're in remarkable shape, considering how long you've been in a catatonic state.
Todd: What...what day is it?
Baker: May 20th.
Todd: May?
Baker: May 2011.
Todd: 2003? It's 2003. Isn't it?
Baker: It's 2011. As I said, you were catatonic for a long time.
Todd: For 8 years? I've been here for 8 years?
Baker: You've received the best of care. State-of-the-art treatment. Physically. Nutritionally. Look at yourself. You're in amazing condition.
[Todd starts freaking out]
Todd: Let me out of here! I gotta go! I gotta get out of here!

[Todd spits out information about his life while Baker tortures him with electroshock therapy]
Todd: I have a daughter! Her name is Starr!
Baker: What was that?
Todd: I have a daughter! Her name is Starr!
Baker: You want to see her again? Tell me what I need to know.
Todd: Starr has a mother. Her name is BLAIR!

[Blair's attempt to sleep with Tomas is interrupted]
Blair: (muttering to herself) Girl, is the universe trying to tell you something?

[Starr finds Blair sitting by the pool staring at the gold balloon photo; Todd is watching them from the yard]
Starr: What are you doing out here? Drinking alone, looking at that old photo.
Blair: Actually, John gave it back to me and it just got me to wondering if maybe the one great love of my life was your father.

Blair: (to Starr about the picture) I just got it back and -- I just started wondering. Look at this. Look how happy. I just loved that wedding day. Look how happy I was. I really was happy the day that I married your dad. Mm. Makes me wonder if I'm ever gonna be that happy again.
[Todd, eavesdropping, reacts to these words]

Starr: Did you know that Sam has an imaginary friend?
Blair: Since when?
Starr: This afternoon, I heard Sam talking to someone out here. When I came out, they were gone.
Blair: Well, Sam does have a very vivid imagination.
Starr: Tell me about it. He even described this man. He said he had a line on his face.
Blair: A line? What did he mean by that?
Starr: When I asked him -- he went like this. (she draws a line on her face that matches Todd's scar)

[Todd meets up with Sam and tries to figure out details of the impostor's life]
Sam: My dad's not married to my mom.
Todd: Blair? You mean Blair?
Sam: Yeah, but I don't call her that. I call her Mom.
Todd: Right. Sorry. Sometimes I get a little confused in my head.

[Todd sits in his motel room and tries to make sense of what's going on]
Todd: I have a son. His name is Jack. Except I don't have a son. He has a son named Jack and a daughter named Starr and an ex-wife named Blair and a wife named Tea and a house and a car and a newspaper and a boatload full of money because that son of a bitch stole my life! You know, Agent Kent, I'm sorry that I killed you, because maybe you could have explained to me what the hell is going on. I'm gone for 8 years. I miraculously wake up and some loser has stolen my life? And the thing is, nobody noticed? Not Blair? Not Tea? Not Starr? And who the hell are Sam and Dani?

[Todd breaks down as he remembers snippets of conversations he's overheard the last few days in Llanview]
Tea's voice: He's the same man who almost burned to death in that cabana. He hasn't changed one bit.
Blair's voice: Just got me to wondering if maybe the one great love of my life was your father.
Jack's voice: All my life, I've heard I'm just like Dad. Then when I am just like Dad, everyone just freaks out!
Viki's voice: The "Banner" is just fine. Thank you very much. Fortunately, I don't need sleaze to sell newspapers.
Todd's voice: I have a sister. Her name is Viki. Starr has a mother. Her name is Blair. I have a niece. Her name is Jessica.
Todd: (to himself) Who are you? Who am I?

Blair: (to Dorian, about Sam) I'm gonna sit that boy down, and I'm gonna talk to him, and I'm gonna find out exactly who the man is with the line on his face.

John: (to Blair, about Todd) Whoever this guy is, it looks like he had every chance to hurt Sam and he didn't. In fact, it looks like he was trying to protect him.

[Todd shows up at Sam's party dressed as Spider-Man]
Sam: Spider-Man!
Tea: All right! See? He's perfect.
Blair: You're right, he's perfect. (to Victor) Where did you find him?

[Blair poses with "Spider-Man," unaware that he's really Todd]
Tomas: Should I be jealous?
Blair: I don't know. He is a bona fide superhero.

[Todd has kidnapped Sam]
Sam: My mom's gonna be worried.
Todd: No, she's not.
Sam: My mom knows you?
Todd: Yes. She does. We go way back. She knows that you're here with me and she would want me to protect you.

[The two Todds come face-to-face in Todd's office]
"Todd"/Victor: Look, I don't know who you are, but...you took my son?
Todd: No. You took my son. You took my Jack. You took my Starr. You took Blair. You took Tea. You took my family. You took my money! You took my newspaper! You took my life! You took my name. You want to know who I am? I'm Todd Manning.

Dorian: My Blair is a very special person.
Tomas: I'm aware of that.
Dorian: And Todd Manning was the love of her life way before your sister met him.
Tomas: I know that, too.
Dorian: Every man since Todd has been, at best, transitional. Almost as if she was making bad choices to guarantee that she would never get over Todd.

[Blair is interviewed at the "Vicker Man" premiere]
Blanca: (to Blair) Love those earrings.
Blair: Oh, thank you. They were a gift from my ex-husband.
[Todd watches on TV]
Todd: The earrings. I gave you those earrings.
