Starr Blackmails Nigel Into Taking Her To Todd

Starr -- at Todd's request -- has spent quite a bit of time eavesdropping on conversations between Max, Blair, and Asa. Now, she and Nigel are both in the front hallway (Nigel is arranging some flowers), and she has a teeny, tiny "request" (read: command).

Starr: Take me to Daddy.
Nigel: And drop everything else? I hardly think so.
Starr: Take me to Daddy!
Nigel: Ms. Starr, if I take you to your father, Grandpa Asa will express his displeasure in no uncertain terms -- quite possibly with his hunting rifle.
Starr: If you don't, I'll tell Grandpa Asa that you sneak his heart medicine in his scrambled eggs.
Nigel: Oh -- you really are daddy's little girl, aren't you?
Starr: (gives him a sweet smile)
Nigel: (sighing) As you wish, Ms. Starr.

Nigel takes Starr by the hand and they exit out the front door.

Nigel brings Starr to Todd's office.

Todd: Hey, Starr! Wow. What brings you here?
Nigel: Extortion.
Todd: (loudly, as if unable to understand Nigel's accent) What did you say?
Starr: I asked Nigel to bring me.
Todd: And he did. (looking at Nigel and shrugging) Thanks?
Nigel: Don't mention it. Please, don't.

Nigel exits and Starr turns to her father excitedly.

Starr: Guess what I did, Daddy?
Todd: What? Did you do what you were supposed to do?
Starr: (nods) I spied on Mommy, Uncle Max and Grandpa Asa.
Todd: No, darling. You know what? He's not your grandpa. If he was your grandpa, you'd have horns.
Starr: I would?
Todd: Yeah. Don't call him grandpa. Call him Asa, okay? So did you find anything about my new best friend Ben Davidson?
Starr: He's got a secret. And Uncle Max doesn't want Asa to know what it is.
Todd: (laughs)

--end scene--

Todd: That's good work, Starr.
Starr: You want to know what else I heard? Asa says he's going to kill all the Rappa-Davidsons.
Todd: How does that make you feel?
Starr: (shrugs) Okay.
Todd: No, I mean it. It doesn't bother you when Asa's talking about killing everybody?
Starr: No, not really. Asa never gives me anything at Christmas. Everything from him is really from Grandma Renee.
Todd: (laughs)
Starr: I like it when you smile, Daddy.
Todd: What -- yeah? Well, I always smile when things are going our way.
Starr: Things are going our way now?
Todd: (hugging Starr to him) Yeah. From now on, things are going our way.
