T&B's Night On the Town Starts At the Up-Scale Olanov's

Todd and Blair arrive at Olanov's restaurant (interrupting a tense moment between RJ, Bo, Alex and Asa). Blair is in a good mood as she shows Todd around.

Blair: (excited, to Todd) Come on! Come on, Todd! I want to show you the artwork here. It's great!

Asa is outraged by their arrival.

Asa: Whoa, hey! Who the hell said you were ever welcome in my club??

--end scene--

Blair: Come on, Todd, let's go. All he's going to do is make cheap shots at me anyway.
Asa: Cheap shots? Honey, you are a cheap shot. Now, you're out of here, you and your raping, murdering boyfriend. Now get.
Todd: Now, don't have a stroke, Pops. We're out of here. (to Blair) Tell me something.
Blair: Hm?
Todd: Was he like this when you married him, or is he like this 'cause you divorced him?

RJ decides that now is the time to intervene.

RJ: Asa, you don't own this club anymore, remember? Your wife sold it. Now if you'll excuse me.

RJ turns to Todd and Blair.

RJ: (to Todd) Now, you... (to Blair) and particularly you, are welcome to come here and spend your money any day. But today, allow me to apologize for this gentleman's outburst by offering you a bottle of our best champagne on the house.
Todd: Cool.
Blair: Thanks!

Todd follows RJ to the bar. Blair lingers and taps on Asa's tie mockingly.

Blair: Don't mind if we do!

When the scene returns, Todd and Blair are at the bar knocking back glasses of champagne. Asa is sitting next to them, looking none too amused as he waits for his drink order.

Blair: Oh, by the way, Asa...Melador's lease for the Buchanan Building is signed and on your desk as we speak. And I'll be getting everything together to move in as soon as possible.
Asa: (dryly) Lucky you.
Blair: See, I know that the only reason that you leased me those offices is so you could keep an eye on Cord and me. (to Todd) Granddaddy here wanted to protect his itty-bitty grandson from big, bad Blair. (chuckling) Well, you don't have to worry anymore, because Cord and I have gone our separate ways.

Asa stands up abruptly.

Asa: Well, praise the Lord! Codero is much too good for you.
Blair: Maybe. But I get so much pleasure in knowing that you leased me those offices without a cut of my business! (she laughs)
Asa: It was well worth it, honey. (he gestures to Todd) See, this guy's more your speed. You've sunk to your own level.

Asa leaves. Blair, looking a little stung, has had enough.

Blair: Come on, come on, Todd, come on, let's go.
Todd: No, come on, look, we got a free bottle of champagne. We came here to have a good time -- let's have a good time.

--end scene--

Blair puts down her champagne on the bar and looks around the club, suddenly upset about something.

Blair: What -- what is this? Where's the music in this place? Well, I guess I am just going to have to make my own. (she starts singing, very pointedly in Asa's direction) "The old gray mare just ain't what he used to be! Ain't what he used to be! Ain't what he used to be! The old gray mare just ain't what he used to be!"

Asa gets up from his table and goes to stand beside Alex and Bo.

Asa: Will you look at that? Hm?
Bo: Pretty hard to ignore, Pa.
Asa: Well, can't you do something, Bo?
Bo: You're kidding, right?
Asa: Just thinking about Cord's good money going to her company...! But she did say they split. If it's true, that's the best news that's ever going to happen to Codero.

--end scene--

When the scene returns, Todd and Blair have decided to leave.

Todd: Come on Blair, let's get out of here. This place is full of deadbeats and old geezers.

They turn and leave, Blair giggling on her way out the door.
