Blair Asks Marty to Be Todd's Alibi

Blair wants to help Todd get out of jail -- and the only way to do that is to convince Marty to come forward as his alibi. She shows up on Marty's doorstep, and is surprised when Dylan Moody answers the door.

Blair: Dylan! I didn't expect you to be here.
Dylan: That makes us even, now, doesn't it?
Blair: How is your sister?
Dylan: Better than ever. (to Marty) You know what, Marty? I think I changed my mind, I think I'll stay.
Marty: No, that's all right, Dylan, I think I know why Blair is here to talk to me.
Dylan: All right, but you think about what I said, all right?
Marty: I will, take care.
Dylan: Bye.

Blair watches Dylan leave. Once he's gone, she turns to Marty with a satisfied smile on her face.

Blair: Mm-hmm. Well, he certainly makes a nice watchdog.
Marty: Blair, I think I can save you a lot of trouble. If you're here to make more threats about Andrew and me --
Blair: No, no, no, I'm here not to talk about Andrew, but to talk about you and someone else -- Todd Manning.

Blair: I was just at the station, where they questioned me about Todd Manning's whereabouts last night.
Marty: So?
Blair: So, I told them that I saw him in the park, that his hand was bloody and bandaged. He was upset, but he wasn't violent. We talked, we went our separate ways, and that was about midnight last night.
Marty: (icily) I can see how the police might find this fascinating, but I really don't see --
Blair: I saw Todd at the station, Marty.
Marty: Really? You two are becoming great friends, aren't you?
Blair: We understand each other.
Marty: Oh, that doesn't surprise me.
Blair: Marty, Todd told me that he was with you at the hospital at 11:00 pm, the same exact time Rebecca Lewis was attacked.
Marty: Oh, Todd says a lot of things.
Blair: Even Todd can't be at two places at once, Marty!
Marty: That's assuming you believe him!
Blair: I do!
Marty: Well that's your problem. Good night, Blair!
Blair: No, no, that is YOUR problem, Marty! Now according to Todd's attorney, you refused to even back up his alibi!
Marty: Because it's not true!
Blair: Well, I think it is, and I think you are the one who is lying here. So either you go to the police right now and tell them the truth, or --
Marty: Well don't stop there -- or what? No, let me guess, you'll start spreading lies about Andrew and me all over town -- that does sound like you!
Blair: No, you see, unlike you I don't have to live for revenge. I learned the hard way what bitterness and hate can do. Come on, Marty, don't make my mistakes. You know that Todd is innocent, and you know what you have to do.

Blair leaves the house, and Marty is furious -- she yells after Blair through the open doorway.

Marty: Yeah, I'm going to get a lesson from YOU of all people! Blair Daimler's going to tell me how to live MY life, yeah RIGHT!

Marty slams the door after Blair and continues ranting to herself.

Marty: I know -- I know what I have to do! What I should have done a long time ago -- put Todd back where he belongs...make sure he never --

She rushes back over to the door, flings it open, and yells out it.

Marty: I know what I have to do, Blair!
