T&B Make Love ("Gravity of Love")

Todd and Blair are in Blair's Palace suite, after having caused an evening of chaos downstairs by setting up Skye, Rae, John, Renee, Asa, and Max to go after each other over the various secrets they are keeping. Todd masterminded the plan as a way of demonstrating to Blair that they are made for each other.
Todd: You can see that now, can't you? That we belong together?
Blair: Because we cause more damage when we're together?
Todd: Come on -- look what happened tonight. Half the people in this town are ready to kill the other half of the people in this town, and we did that -- in one night! Imagine what we could do in a -- in a lifetime.
Blair: You tell me, Todd.
Todd: Anything. Blair, you and I are not like any other two people on the planet.
Blair: 'Cause nobody wants to be like us.
Todd: No, because nobody else in the world understands what we understand. They don't feel good --
Todd gets off the bed to go stand by the fireplace.
Todd: -- so they make all these fairy tales up to make themselves feel better. They got -- they got kindness, they got loyalty, they got -- love. But I understand, and I see everything.
Blair struggles to speak for a moment.
Blair: What do you see when you look at me, Todd?
Todd: I see somebody that made a mistake. You know, you tried to live by Max's rules, and it didn't work, because you're not like him. Blair, the best thing that ever happened to you is that Max dumped you. Now you can be who you are. We -- we both can be who we are!
Blair: Yeah, what's that, huh?
Todd: Outcasts. Oddballs. Freaks.
Blair: Oh, yeah, right --
Todd: Pariahs!
Blair gets off the bed to walk toward him.
Blair: That is such a lovely offer.
Todd: Think about it. You get to be the -- the person, who, publicly, everybody insults, but secretly they all wish that they had the guts that you have.
Blair: I don't know, Todd. You know, it -- it used to be exciting to break all the rules. It wears me out!
Todd: Fine, you want rules? You can have rules! Our own rules for our own world! Look, good is bad, bad is good, cruel is kind, and hate...is love.
--end scene--
Blair becomes flustered and tries to change the subject.
Blair: You know, if we stay up here, we're gonna miss all the fun.
Todd sighs.
Blair: We should maybe go downstairs and catch Max being chewed to little bitty pieces by Asa and Renee. Or we could go find Skye and tell her who her mother really is. That would be a blast -- her head would explode. You said we live by our own rules anyway, right?
Todd: Yeah, fine, and we do, but the thing about an atom bomb is that it's great, right, but you gotta choose the perfect moment. You gotta choose the moment that -- that does the most damage, hurts the most people.
Blair: Is that what you wanna do, Todd? Hurt people?
Todd: Yeah. Most of all, I don't want anybody to hurt me. And I figure if I got something on somebody, then they can't hurt me, and I got something on just about everybody in Llanview. I got Asa, I got Skye, I got Max, I got --
Blair: (holding up her hand) Me. Me. I shot my husband in the back.
Todd: Yes, you did. So what?
Blair: Are you going to use that against me some day, Todd? Are you just waiting for the perfect moment?
Todd levels a look at Blair but doesn't say anything.
--end scene--
Blair: When you covered up what I did to Max, you said that you wanted something in return.
Todd: (shrugging) You gave me something in return. You told me that Asa and Renee were Ben's parents. I still laugh about that one.
Blair: Yeah, but you have power over me, Todd. You have it over me. You could go to the cops any minute and tell them that I shot Max in the back.
Todd: Why would I do that?
Blair: Well, you said that you didn't want to be hurt.
Blair walks away from Todd.
Todd: Are you planning on hurting me?
Blair: No! I mean, unless you turn on me and, believe me, I can do to you what I did to Max.
She turns back toward him.
Blair: Only this time the bullet will go right between your eyes.
She makes a gesture with her hand to show the bullet traveling toward his forehead, and Todd chuckles.
Todd: Uh-huh. Okay. Fine, you got yourself a deal. I turn you in, you get to shoot me. What about my deal now, huh? You marry me. Let the rest of the world live unhappily ever after. What's it gonna be, Blair?
Blair looks unsure.
--end scene--
Todd: Look, I can make Llanview hell on earth all by myself, but -- I could use some company.
Todd is very serious.
Todd: Come on, Blair, yes or no. Let me know.
Suddenly, the door flies open and Max storms into the room. As Todd and Blair turn to look at Max, Todd stays positioned slightly in front of Blair.
Todd: Whoa, whoa, wat do you want?
Max: You think destroying my life is funny? You watch me trash yours -- you'll die laughing.
Todd and Blair look at Max skeptically while he glares at them.
--end scene--
Max: You tell Renee I know who her son is.
Todd: You do know who her son is.
Max: And then you go to Asa, and you tell him I'm running a scam behind his back? What the hell kind of game are you two playing? You wanna expose me?
Blair: What if we are, Max? What are you gonna do about it?
Max: You try and take away this life I have built for myself, I'll make sure yours isn't worth living.
Max leaves and slams the door, and Blair walks out from behind Todd as she tries to gather herself.
Blair: Well, that was kind of scary.
Todd: Yeah, well, he can huff and puff, but he's not gonna blow anybody's house down.
Blair turns to look at Todd.
Todd: Look, enough of the sales pitch, I'm -- I'm offering you me. And you know what that is. So take it or leave it, Blair, now.
--end scene--
"Gravity of Love" is playing in the background.
Blair: I want it. You -- and everything that goes with it. I want it all, Todd.
Todd: It's right here. It always has been. And all you have to do is take it.
Blair stares at Todd for a moment and then looks back at the bed. Then she looks at Todd again and, keeping her eyes on him, slowly takes off her jacket. Then she walks toward him and takes his hand, and the two of them go toward the bed. Blair looks at the bed one more time and then looks back at Todd and kisses him. Todd melts into the kiss, opens his eyes briefly to look at Blair, and then closes them again.
