Blair and Cristian are making out in one of the basement rooms at Break Bar. Cristian is into it at first but then suddenly pulls away.

Cristian: Maybe I should go back to the bar and make sure everything's okay.
Blair: Ah, come on -- it's RJ's bar. Let him deal. (she tries to kiss him again)
Cristian: Yeah, Blair, but --
Blair: What?
Cristian: There was a blackout. They're probably going crazy in there.
Blair: (laughing) Cristian, it's New Year's Eve! People are going to go crazy!

She pulls him to her and they begin to make out, as Blair pushes them backward into a closet, the door closing behind them.

When the scene returns, Cristian is kissing Blair's neck while she moans happily.

Blair: Oh, Cristian! I want you so much!

Cristian pulls away for a moment and steps back.

Cristian: This isn't really about wanting me.
Blair: Come on! Don't you sell yourself short, 'cause you're something! Oh, you are more than something!

She plants more kisses on him.

Cristian: And so are you.
Blair: You know what? Nobody should be alone on New Year's Eve.

Cristian pulls away again.

Cristian: Look, Blair, I like you.
Blair: Oh, and I like you.
Cristian: And I owe you big time.

Blair continues planting small kisses on him.

Cristian: You warned me about Max going after Will, and you helped me and Jess find Asa --
Blair: You know what? I finally found a way for you to pay me back.
Cristian: Um, I don't want to take advantage of you.
Blair: (with faux sadness) Oh, well, that's too bad because I really want to take advantage of you. (she kisses him again)
Cristian: You do?

Blair begins kissing him again.

Blair: Mm-hmm! Let's just call it Blair's Easy Payment Plan.
Cristian: Todd left the bar, Blair. If this is for his benefit, he's not gonna know about it.
Blair: Oh, yeah, he will. Because I'm gonna tell him.

They begin making out again.

Blair and Cristian are still making out.

Blair: Cristian? It doesn't bother you that this is for Todd, does it? I mean, just part of it?
Cristian: It doesn't bother me if it doesn't bother you.

He begins kissing her again.

Blair: You know, back in the bar a while ago, when we were dancing, it wasn't for Todd, was it? It was because Jessica was there watching, wasn't it?
Cristian: Jessica's history, Blair. I'll take sex over love any day. Love is nothing but a bad joke.

He goes back to kissing her.

Blair: (laughing) Amen to that!
Cristian: And you told me that months ago. I should have listened to you then.
Blair: Oh, Cristian, I should have listened to myself. I don't want to love anybody ever again. I just want to feel good, and I just want to think about right now. How about you? Hm?
Cristian: Sounds like a perfect New Year to me.

Blair laughs as they continue making out. What they don't know is that Todd is lurking in the basement with a flashlight looking for them. He comes to the door to the closet and looks at it ominously.

When the scene returns, Todd hears Blair moaning as she and Cristian are making out. He cracks the door open and looks at them.

Blair: Oh, Cristian!
Cristian: To hell with Jessica.
Blair: To hell with Todd. To hell with everybody!

Todd watches them as if he can't seem to pull his eyes away.

When the scene returns, Todd is still watching Blair and Cristian. When he can't stand it any more, he softly closes the door and then looks around the basement. When he spies a can of paint thinner, he picks it up and seems to be forming a plan.

As Blair and Cristian continue to make out, Todd pours some paint thinner on the floor by the closet door. Then he pours some more on a rag and gets out the lighter he carries with him -- the one that belonged to his abusive stepfather, Peter Manning -- which he uses to set the rag on fire before tossing the rag onto the ground by the closet door. The fire grows as Todd looks satisfied.

Todd continues to watch as the flames grow, while Blair and Cristian make out inside the closet, not yet aware of the flames outside the door.

When the scene returns, Todd is watching the growing fire with satisfaction.

Todd: (to himself) You see, Blair, I'm not the only one who gets burned tonight.

Back inside the closet, Blair and Cristian are making out when Blair temporarily pulls away from him.

Blair: Oh, Cristian -- is it me or is it just getting hot in here?
Cristian: That's kind of the whole idea, isn't it?
Blair: Wait -- I smell something.

They both look over at the door and see the smoke coming in from the other side.

Cristian: It's a fire!
Blair: Oh, God! We gotta get outta here!
Cristian: Blair, hold on --
Blair: No --
Cristian: Hold on! You can't!
Blair: No, we're going to be trapped in here! We're going to die!
Cristian: Just stay right here! I'm gonna look for another way out.

Cristian begins looking fruitlessly around the room as Blair desperately yells at the doorway.

Blair: Help, somebody! If you can hear us, help us! Help us! Help, somebody!

Meanwhile, outside the door, Todd turns to leave until he hears Blair. Her voice makes him turn around, and he hears her words from earlier echoing in this head: "You destroy everything you love, Todd. Everything you love."

Back in the present, Blair is still screaming for help.

Blair: Help us! (coughing) Help, somebody!

Todd quickly changes his mind and grabs a fire extinguisher on the wall and prepares to use it.

Meanwhile, inside the storage closet, Blair continues to freak out.

Blair: What are we going to do??
Cristian: There's only one thing we can do -- we gotta go through this door!
Blair: We can't do that! We're going to be burned, Cristian!
Cristian: Maybe, but if we stay in here, we'll die for sure.

Cristian flings the door open, and they both see the flames roaring just outside. As Cristian tries to beat back the fire, Blair looks past him and sees Todd armed with the fire extinguisher a few feet away. Todd and Blair lock eyes.
