Blair and Starr Face Off With Skye

Skye has just arrived at Blair's Palace suite in the middle of the night. She pushes past Blair to go into the room.
Skye: A whole new ballgame, Blair.
Blair: So, Skye, how'd you get out? Let me guess -- you had sex with a guard, and he unlocked your cell. Is that it? It doesn't matter, 'cause they're gonna hunt you down.
Skye: I don't think so. I'm out on bail. It's all perfectly legal. But my guess is the next one they're going to be hunting down is you.
Blair: You're as wrong about that as you were about Max loving you.
Skye: I'm never wrong, Blair.
Blair: You get out of my room, or I'll have the cops here to arrest you for trespassing! You got that??
Skye: How does it feel to know that you framed me for a crime that you committed?
Blair: How does it feel to know that your freedom is temporary? Hmm? 'Cause you're going to go back to jail after this trial for a very, very long time.
Skye: Don't bet on it. The tide's turning, Blair.
Blair: You know what? Big deal! So what? The judge let you out on bail.
Skye: Judge Fitzwater thinks that I won't try to run. More importantly, she thinks that I don't pose a risk to Max.
Blair: So Nora's good -- I'll give her that.
Skye: Oh, I've got more than Nora. I've got a new ally -- a cop. A very good cop who believes I'm innocent.
Blair: I don't -- so? I don't care.
Skye: John Sykes believes that you had the real motive for shooting Max. He knows you were acting crazy that day that you attacked me with a pair of scisors -- that you were begging Max not to leave you. Blair: You know what? If he knows so much, how come you're the one still charged with attempted murder, huh? How come? Or did -- did you get Nora to drop those charges, too?
Skye just glares at Blair in silence.
Blair: I didn't think so. What a pity.
Skye: Well, he doesn't have the proof -- not yet. But he will. Because he's going to dog you until he gets it. He's going to be there every time you turn around -- everywhere you look. Your life's going to become a nightmare, Blair, because he's not going to let up. You are going to suffer the way that you deserve, and just when you think it won't get any worse, that's when they're going to put you away!
Suddenly, they are interrupted by the arrival of Starr, in her pjs and wielding a Super Soaker.
Starr: You leave my mommy alone!
Skye softens momentarily as she addresses Starr with apparently genuine compassion.
Skye: Oh. I'm sorry you had to hear that. I -- I know it's hard to hear bad things about your parents.
But Starr's not convinced, as she immediately sprays Skye.
Starr: Die, sucker!
Skye flinches as she gets soaked by the gun, while Blair watches in amusement.

Skye: Oh! Little brat! Look what you did!
Starr: (aiming the gun at Skye) I said leave my mommy alone! Now, take it back!
Skye: Well, I guess you got your aim from your mommy.
Starr: I said take it back!
Blair: You know, children get upset when they hear their parents being attacked, but I guess you're used to that with a daddy like Adam Chandler, huh?
Skye: This little demon of yours is going to end up in a cell right next to you!
Blair: You know, a parent gets upset when a child is attacked, too. Starr, if Skye doesn't take back all the mean things she said about your mommy, you have my permission to blast her at any time.
Skye: Well, like mother, like daughter. Things don't go your way, and you grab the nearest gun.
Blair: You shut up!
Starr: Should I shoot her again, Mommy?
Blair: No, sweetie. It's okay. It's all right. You head on to bed, okay? I can take care of Skye.
Starr: (handing her the gun) Take this -- just in case.
Starr glares at Skye and leaves.
Skye: When you and Todd go to prison for shooting Max, that little brat of yours is going to become a ward of the state. They're going to throw her in some juvie center, and that's where she's going to stay, 'cause no one's going to want to take in the spawn of you two sickos.
Blair is furious and lunges toward Skye.
Blair: You shut up! You shut up, or I'll --
Skye: Or what? What? You going to shoot me, too?
--end scene--
Blair: I'm not going to shoot anyone. I've never shot anyone.
Blair tosses the Super Soaker on her bed for emphasis.
Skye: Oh, please. That's going to need a whole lot more rehearsal before opening night.
Blair: It's the truth, Skye.
Skye: Sure it is. You know, it's really a shame you won't be there for Starr. I know what it's like to grow up with your mommy -- hm, put away? But, then again, so do you. And given how unstable that brat is already, not to mention her genetic predisposition --
Blair: I said shut up about my daughter, Skye! And I mean it!
Skye: Sorry. Did I -- did I hit a nerve? Don't tell me this is the first time you -- you've wondered about what might happen to Starr when you go away to prison.
Blair: I'm not going to go to prison, 'cause I didn't shoot Max! See, you did. You had the weapon, and you had the motive. Yes, you're the one that's going to be going away to Statesville for a very long time.
Skye: Yeah. Well, I wouldn't count on that. Do you want to know what convinced them to let me out on bail? I passed a lie-detector test.
Blair betrays just a hint of surprise and worry at this, but she covers it admirably.
Blair: Well, if they believed it, why didn't they drop the charges?
Skye: Who says they won't? But, hey, if you're innocent, you can take a test yourself and clear the whole thing up. I'll call John Sykes right now if you want!
Blair: You know what you can do? You can go to hell!
Skye: Well, I'll take that as a "no."
Blair: I don't have to prove anything to you.
Skye: Well, you don't have to prove anything to me, but -- wait. (she pretends to sniff the air) Wait a minute. What's that? Do you -- do you smell something? (glaring at Blair) Oh, yeah. Fear.
Blair glares at Skye in return.
