Blair Asks Kelly to be Maid of Honor

Kelly is up in her bedroom at the Cramer Mansion, just coming out of the bathroom from a shower, drying her hair with a towel, when she hears Blair hollaring up the stairs.

Blair: Kelly, are you up here?
Kelly: Yeah, my bedroom.

Blair can be heard laughing happily as she comes down the hallway and throws open the door to the bedroom. She comes toward Kelly, rubbing her hands together in excitement.

Kelly: Hi!
Blair: Hi!
Kelly: Everything all right?
Blair: Couldn't be better! (in a sing-song voice) I've got the most wonderful news for you!
Kelly: (in a sing-song voice) Wh-at?
Blair: Todd and I are getting married again!

Kelly becomes very serious.

Kelly: What?? Wait --
Blair: Well, couldn't you show just a little bit of enthusiasm here?
Kelly: Wait a minute! What are you talking about? You promised me you'd say no to him!
Blair: I didn't promise you anything! And if I did, I was wrong.
Kelly: Blair.

Blair ignores how serious Kelly has become and continues to speak excitedly.

Blair: Kelly, it's going to be so great! We're gonna be one big, happy family!
Kelly: That's what you'd like to believe, but it's gonna go wrong. It always goes wrong with Todd.
Blair: No, it won't.
Kelly: All right, you know what? Let's -- let's try to remember -- what was it like the first time you married Todd?

Blair inspects her engagement ring.

Blair: Hm, I did that for his money.
Kelly: The second time?
Blair: (emphatically) That was for love! Todd never should have ran off to Ireland right after we got married. It was all about Marty -- she's the reason he was shot!

Blair goes back to admiring her ring.

Kelly: Blair!
Blair: What?
Kelly: This is crazy!

At this, Blair snaps, and when she speaks it is with somewhat shocking vehemence.

Blair: I'm not crazy! Don't you say that -- not now, not ever! You got that, Kelly!

Blair manages to calm down, but just a bit.

Blair: I'm not gonna go there ever again.
Kelly: Blair, do you think that Todd will provide stability for you?
Blair: Yes, I do. Todd knows me better than anybody. Max made me crazy. Todd keeps me sane.

Blair: You really -- you really have to help me. I need so much right now. I mean, there's so much to do!
Kelly: Blair, please.
Blair: What?
Kelly: You are making a very big mistake.
Blair: No, no, stop, stop, stop! Don't even say that, because I know that Todd loves me, and I can trust him.

Blair goes over to Kelly's mirror to look at her hair, while Kelly is clearly trying to keep her cool.

Blair: And I know I can.
Kelly: "Trust him"?? Trusting Todd is like swimming in quicksand!
Blair: No, it is not!
Kelly: Mm-hmm.

Blair has now come back over to Kelly to look her in the eye.

Blair: No, come on -- it's going to be so great. He has been so rock solid -- so incredible. And you know Starr loves her daddy so much. She's crazy about him! Now, I have a question for you. Will you be my maid of honor, please?
Kelly: Honey, I wanna be happy for you --
Blair: Well, you know what, you be happy!
Kelly: -- more than anyone in the whole world.
Blair: Be happy for me! Because I am! I'm happy.
Kelly: Yeah, but how can I? I am looking at you, and I feel like you're a woman standing on a cliff --
Blair: No!
Kelly: -- excited to jump off.
Blair: No, no! Kelly, listen to me -- it's going to be great! We're gonna be one big, happy family. Please. Please just tell me you'll be my maid of honor. Okay?
Kelly: (sadly) No. I can't. I cannot stand up there and watch you ruin your life.

Blair is furious.

Blair: Fine! Fine! I'm just sorry I wasted all your time.

Blair heads back toward the door, but before she leaves she hits her hand on the doorframe and whirls back around to face Kelly.

Blair: You know, I don't need you, Kelly. I don't need you! All I need is Todd! And we will be happy! You'll see!
Kelly: Stop! Stop! Stop! I can't let you do this.

Kelly grabs her towel and runs out the door after Blair.
