Cristian is at Break Bar cleaning up when Jessica comes by to look for her missing scarf. They have a tense, awkward encounter that is interrupted when Blair arrives.

Blair: Hey, Cristian!
Cristian: Hey, sexy.
Blair: You're not so bad yourself! I, um, I came by to talk to you about last night --
Cristian: Yes. You know, I had a great, great time.

Cristian quickly kisses Blair, very obviously for the benefit of the watching Jessica.

When the scene returns, Blair is touching up her makeup as Cristian watches her. Jessica pointedly interrupts them.

Jessica: Found my scarf.
Cristian: Good.
Blair: (feeling the awkwardness) Wow, you know, I'm really thirsty, and I guess this is the perfect place to get a drink.

Blair goes over to sit at the bar, while Jessica goes to talk to Cristian privately.

Jessica: What are you doing with her??
Cristian: What does it look like I'm doing?
Jessica: Cristian, she's married -- to my uncle!
Cristian: So? Just because her husband's a jerk, she can't have any fun?
Jessica: Cristian, do you even like her?

Cristian sidles over toward Blair, who is listening intently even though her back is turned to them.

Cristian: What's not to like, Jessica?
Jessica: You're a complete different person.
Cristian: Yeah, well, maybe you never knew the real me!
Jessica: You're right -- maybe I never did.

Jessica leaves, and Blair approaches Cristian.

Blair: Hey. I really just -- I did come here to say that I'm sorry about last night. I was trying to forget someone, you were trying to forget Jessica, and seeing and hearing the two of you together just now, it's not as easy as --
Cristian: No, no, Blair, you're wrong. Jessica and I are through, just like you and Max.

At the mention of Max, Blair averts her eyes and doesn't correct his impression that it was Max, not Todd, she was trying to forget. Not that it matters much because then Cristian does bring up Todd anyway.

Cristian: You know, um, Todd didn't seem like he, uh, was too happy about seeing us together last night. What happened after I left?
Blair: (chuckling) Well, he did something I never thought he would ever do.
Cristian: He didn't hurt you, did he?
Blair: No.

Blair walks away from Cristian so that he can't see her face.

Cristian: Good. I was a little worried. I mean, I know what he did to Tea. He ruined her life, and the guy hasn't changed one bit. I'm glad you're not involved with him, Blair.
Blair: You know, I don't think I'll ever really, totally be free of -- of Todd. You know, we have a child together, and, well, our relationship is very complicated. You can't understand Todd and me. You're -- you're just too --
Cristian: Young?

Blair turns to look at him again.

Blair: You're too sweet.
Cristian: After last night, do you still think I'm sweet?
Blair: Yeah, I do. Cristian, you can't understand Todd and me. I don't even understand us.
Cristian: That's okay. I don't think I really want to.
Blair: You know, sometimes I don't understand half the things that I do.
Cristian: Like with Max? Or is that complicated, too?

When the scene returns, Blair and Cristian are seated at the bar sharing drinks.

Blair: With Max, things couldn't be simpler. We're definitely over.
Cristian: Good. And the next time you fall in love, fall in love with someone better.
Blair: There won't be a next time. I've been let down by love one too many times. I'm tired of trying so hard, twisting myself into being this perfect woman so the perfect man will love me. Nope.
Cristian: Yeah, tell me about it. You try to love someone, and all they do is spit in your face.
Blair: Oh, come on, Cristian. Don't say that, and don't you give up! Anyone would be lucky to have you.
Cristian: And anyone would be lucky to have you, too, Blair. And trust me -- the perfect man will know that. He won't ask you to be any different.

His words spark a moment of revelation in Blair.

Blair: You're right, Cristian. He doesn't want me to be different. He accepts me just the way that I am.

Suddenly, Blair's cell phone begins to ring. She reacts in surprise and goes to answer it.

Blair: Excuse me. (she answers it) Hello?
Max: I want to meet with you -- talk about the divorce settlement.
Blair: Well, let's do it.
Max: I'm at Asa's.
Blair: I'll be right there.

Blair hangs up the phone and puts it back in her purse.

Blair: I gotta go.
Cristian: I -- I really wish you could stay, Blair.
Blair: I did come here to say I'm sorry about last night, but you know what? I'm not sorry. I like you Cristian, and you really helped me, and I hope in some little way I helped you, too. Don't you give up, okay? 'Cause the perfect person for you is out there, too.

Blair kisses him on the cheek, grabs her purse, and exits the bar.
