T&B Fly Back To Llanview And Blair Calls Addie

Todd and Blair are on a plane back to Llanview, knocking back airline peanuts.

Todd: So when do you want to tell Llanview that the two terrors have tied the knot?
Blair: (amused) That will really set them on their heels. You know, I don't care who finds out or how, for that matter.
Todd: Does that include Cord?
Blair: We're not going to worry about Cord. The only person I'm worried about telling is my mother.
Todd: Why? She gonna be surprised?
Blair: No. Nothing I ever do surprises her. That is one of the things that I like about her most.
Todd: You know, I saw a phone back there. Why don't you give her a call now, reak the good news to her? No time like the present.

Blair looks uncertain.

When the scene returns, the flight attendant has brought Blair the phone and she's talking to Addie, who is shown using the community phone at St. Anne's. Addie has just had a visit from Cord, who told Addie that he still loves Blair. Addie is now eager to share that information with Blair.

Blair: Mama, I just wanted to tell you that, um, I married Todd.
Addie: Don't do it, Blair.
Blair: Well, it's already done.
Addie: You don't love Todd. You won't be happy.
Blair: But I am.
Addie: Cord loves you! He's worried about you!
Blair: How do you know that?
Addie: He's here. He'll tell you so himself.

Addie looks around the room. While Cord was there earlier, he's not there anymore, which confuses her.

Addie: He was here. He was here!
Blair: (checking her watch) Mama, it's -- it's after -- visiting hours. It can't be.
Addie: I thought he was.
Blair: Mama, you're just mixed up. I just wanted to tell you that I'm married to Todd now. Isn't that wonderful?
Addie: Okay.
Blair: (reassuringly) Everything's gonna be all right, Mama.
Addie: Okay.

Addie hangs up the phone and Blair does the same. Todd picks up on Blair's anxiety.

Todd: What's the matter?
Blair: I told you, um -- my mother's in St. Anne's.
Todd: (with a chuckle) What, the looney bin?

Seeing Blair's expression, Todd quickly corrects himself.

Todd: Sorry. The, uh, the mental hospital.
Blair: She's doing much better, but she's a little unpredictable sometimes. So, Todd, when you -- when you meet her, um --
Todd: What? When I meet her, what?
Blair: Just don't believe everything that she says, okay?
