Standout Scene: Todd is Executed! (Soaps In Depth 7/4/06)

A quick way to tell if you have a pulse or not might be how moved you became by the emotional moments of Todd's final days on One Life to Live. From his painful good-byes to Starr and Evangeline to the agonizing realization that this was actually the end for him, Trevor St. John let it all hang out in a tour de force performance, punctuated by the final moments of his life in the execution chamber. Given a chance to say his last words, Todd first chose to reiterate to Ellen Foley that he had no hand in her sister's supposed murder. Then he began his final farewells, first signaling out Viki and asking her to watch over his children. He then turned to Evangeline, thanking her for being "the dearest friend" he ever had and hoping aloud that she regained her eyesight. Finally, he relented and said a few angry words to his traitorous ex. "I'm going to haunt you," he chillingly told Blair. "I still love you, but I can't forgive you." And with that, Todd was put in position to die. As he flashed back to happier times in his life, the poisonous liquid quickly made its way throughout his body. By the time he was pronounced dead, OLTL fans knew they had just witnessed a moment in the show's history that will never be forgotten.
