Todd and Margaret Face Off (Soap Opera Weekly 9/20/05)

Todd contacts Margaret this week on One Life to Live -- not for the romantic rendezvous of her dreams, but to end her reign of terror. "He believes he's got to do everything he can to shelter Blair, and especially his children," explains head writer Dena Higley.

Jealous that Todd is paying more attention to his kids than to Todd Jr., Margaret tracked down and almost killed Starr, who ends up in the ER this week. Starr figured out that Margaret is pregnant, and confronts Todd. He manages to convince her that he's not the father, but begs her not to tell Blair anything. "There is a kindred spirit between Todd and Starr," notes Higley. "They are survivors. He feels there is a little too much Addie in Blair. Ever since the trunk [incident], she's never been completely strong."

The teen agrees to keep the secret. "Starr has seen enough of her mother unhinged," adds Higley.

Now Todd is more determined than ever to be rid of Margaret, so he places a personal ad in the paper: Peggy, you win. Contact me. TJ's Dad. "It's the end of the game for him," announces Higley. "He can't go on anymore. He wants to finish it one way or another. His intention is to kill her."

Margaret resonds to the ad, leading to what appears to be the final showdown, as the two head toward a seculded island in a rowboat.
