Todd and Margaret Face Off (II) (Soap Opera Digest 9/20/05)

Todd and Margaret reach the breaking point this week when Todd gets the lunatic to meet him alone at a lake (shot on location at Greenwood Lake in New Jersey). Todd baits Margaret by placing a want ad claiming that he gives up and will be part of her dream family.

"She believes it because she wants to really believe it," Tari Signor (Margaret) explains. "She thinks he's finally come to his senses and that it's going to be the perfect family that she wants."

Although Margaret's plan included little Jack joining them, Todd is able to convince her to let his son stay behind. "She'll accept that because he swears on the lives of his family that he's going to be with her," she shrugs.

One of the stipulations of the meeting is that neither party brings a gun, but Margaret quickly demonstrates, yet again, that she cannot be trusted. "Of course, Margaret has a gun on him immediately," Signor laughs. "But he gets Margaret to put her gun away and he pulls a gun on her. So she grabs a big stick and smacks him in the head. Then Margaret has the gun and she suggests they go to this island they see off in the distance to start their family."

They head down to the marina and grab a rowboat to take them to Margaret's fantasy island, where things get even weirder. "Margaret believes that she wrote the song, 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat,' and she thinks that every night they can sing this song to their son, so she makes Todd sing it with her in the boat."

As they row toward the island crooning to each other, it's obvious that something's got to give, and next week it will -- for one of them.
