Their Love Lives Are Not Like Todd & Blair's (Whew!) (Soaps In Depth 12/21/04)

In real life, has One Life to Live's Kassie DePaiva (Blair) ever had to deal with her husband being accused of murder? Has Trevor St. John (Todd) ever surprised his wife, Sara, by coming back from the dead with a new face? Of course not (we presume), and for good reason. "Soaps go to the extreme," DePaiva explains. "I might get angry at my husband at a restaurant, but I would never pour a drink in his face like Blair did to Todd." But with that said, the actress reveals, "I must tell you, when I met Jimmy [DePaiva, ex-Max] on OLTL, our real-life situation was far more intriguing than the storylines we were in!"

St. John's point of view, meanwhile, is that life imitates art "every time you have a fight with your spouse, every time you have a conflict with someone, every time you blow something out of proportion, get irrational and want to kill someone." The difference, he says, is that in the real world, "Those feelings don't manifest themselves the way they do on the show. But you do have that conflict inside your head, when you're feeling, 'I want to strangle that person.'" Okay, we're walking away slowly now....
