They've Cried Enough (Soap Opera Digest 8/10/04)

Blair and Asa have had a stormy relationship since divorcing in 1992. This week, she and Todd team up to make the cantankerous Buchanan patriarch look like he's losing his mind. Their goal: to obtain Asa's mansion, the nicest in town, as a means of repairing their tarnished image. "They're sort of like Scarlett and Rhett," chuckles Head Writer Michael Malone. "You'll see a lot of scheming together. It's Todd and Blair against the world."

For Malone, the story means more than simply reuniting the couple. "It's going to be more light-hearted than their recent storylines [which included Blair accusing Todd of raping her, then suffering from a brain tumor]," notes Malone. "It's good to have them together and not at each other's throats -- and it's good to have them doing some comedy. They've cried enough for now."

But when it comes to crossing Asa, just who is going to get the last laugh?
