Blair and Todd: We Are Family (Soap Opera Digest 6/26/01)

At least, that's what One Life to Live's terrible twosome would like to think. And this week, the pair who put the "fun" in dysfunctional reluctantly decides to once again cohabitate -- for the sake of their daughter, Starr.

"Todd's got custody of her," explains Kassie DePaiva (Blair). "So, that's the only reason she agrees to move in because it's the only way she'll get to see her little girl. But Blair decides to do it on her own terms."

Once together -- under Dorian's roof of all places -- "It's The War Of The Roses," laughs DePaiva. "He has his conditions, Blair has her conditions. Then, he takes down Dorian's portrait and puts up a huge picture of the family, but there's only half of Blair's face. Max comes over and Blair says, 'I can handle Todd, this is fine.' And he looks up at the portrait and says, 'Yeah, right.'"

Of course, Blair could make her life a lot easier by telling Todd that her baby really is his, not Max's. But Blair's taking a stand. "She's been burned so many times," says DePaiva. "This is the test. If Todd can accpet the baby, even though he thinks it's Max's, that would prove to Blair that he cares about her."

Todd's not one to back down, though, and as the days progress, so does the "war." Still, Blair has faith. "Deep down inside, she knows he loves her," insists DePaiva. "Otherwise, what's the point?"
