The Year in Review: HITS (Soap Opera Weekly 12/19/00)

(This issue of Soap Opera Weekly profiled both the "Hits" and "Misses" on soaps for the year 2000. Here are the "Hits" that involved Todd/Roger Howarth and Blair/Kassie DePaiva.)

Triangle: Blair/Max/Skye
Skye arrived in Llanview with destruction on her mind. When her efforts to break up Ben and Viki's relationship failed, Skye set her sights on Max. She soon learned of Max and Blair's Buchanan-identity scam, and realized Max was faking his amnesia -- giving her all the ammunition she would need to blackmail Max right into her bed. Though the affair was brief, we are still feeling the effects.

Snip and Dip: Skye and Blair
OLTL put Dynasty's Alexis and Krystal to shame when Blair found out about Skye's affair with Max. After Blair flushed Skye's head in the toilet, Skye retaliated by drugging Max and Blair and then chopping off Blair's gorgeous locks. Makes getting tossed in a pool seem positively playful!

Back Where He Belongs: Roger Howarth
Howarth may be TV's most reluctant soap star, but he's certainly one of the most appreciated. Fans clamored for his return when he was gone; now their only gripe is he isn't on screen enough.

Hit Haircut: OLTL's Blair
Kassie DePaiva was overdue for a new look. Her decision to radically alter her appearance via a haircut undoubtedly took a lot of thought, and OLTL was able to incorporate it into the storyline. Kassie, you've never looked better!
