Blair Asks Starr What Todd's Secret Is
When the scene opens, Starr is about to enter her bedroom, but Blair stops her at the door. Apparently, Blair has just caught wind of Starr's plan to force Nigel
to take her to the park for a secret meeting with Todd.
Blair: Starr Manning, you hold it right there. There is no way that Nigel is going to drive you to the park to meet your daddy -- not at this hour. It's bedtime -- (she gestures at her watch) -- you see that? And it's time for you to go to bed.
Starr: But it's important!
Blair: I know it's probably important, but you know what else is important? A good night's sleep.
Starr: (pouting) I won't sleep! I'll never sleep until I do this!
Inside the room, viewers can see that Skye snooping through one of Starr's dresser drawers. Hearing Blair and Starr approach, she quickly closes the drawer and hides herself in the closet. Outside, Blair and Starr are still arguing.
Blair: Starr, your daddy had no right to discuss any plans with meeting you at the park tonight. Now, whatever you had planned, it'll wait until tomorrow, you got that?
Starr: I promised! I crossed my heart!
They enter the room, unaware that Skye is hiding in the closet.
Blair: (consolingly to Starr) Come on, come on. What did you promise anyway?
Starr ignores Blair.
Blair: Starr? Don't you keep secrets from me.
Starr: Something for Daddy, and I can't tell!
Blair: Oh, honey, I'm your mommy, and you can tell me anything!
Starr continues to ignore Blair, who finally loses her patience.
Blair: All right, fine. But you know what? I'm going to find out. And you know what I'm going to do right now? I'm going to go downstairs, and you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to tell Nigel that he isn't allowed to take my beautiful little girl anywhere without my permission! So you get your little fanny in bed. Get your pajamas on.
Starr: (muttering) Yeah, we'll see about that.
Blair: STARR!
Blair and Starr glare at each other and then Blair exits the room. Starr, arms crossed and pouting, addresses the unseen Skye.
Starr: You better come out before I count to five, or I'll start screaming! One, two, three --
Skye jumps out of the closet and gives Starr a sheepish look.

Skye: Okay, okay, you caught me. Just don't scream, please.
Starr: What are you doing in my room?
Skye: Well, I saw a light on at the neighbor's, and I know they're away, so I was worried.
Unfortunately for Skye, Starr's a Manning. She knows when she's being lied to.
Starr: (turning to leave) I'm telling Mom.
Skye: No, wait, wait, wait! Don't do that! No need to worry your mother.
Starr: Give me some money, or I'll tell.
Skye: Why, you little --
Starr turns, as if to leave again. Skye has no choice but to give in.
Skye: Fine! Fine.
She goes to Starr's toy chest, takes out her purse, looks in her wallet and hands the waiting Starr a $20 bill.
Starr: (outraged) 20 bucks?? Is that all?
Skye: Oh, my -- all right!
Skye digs around in her purse and hands Starr a wad of money.
Skye: Here you go. Take it. It's all I've got.
Suddenly, both hear Blair coming down the hallway.
Blair's Voice: Hey, Cinderella, you got those PJs on yet? I'm coming in...you better have them on...here I come!
Skye rushes back to her hiding place. Starr pockets the cash just as Blair comes through the door.
Blair: You don't have those PJs on. That's all I asked you to do. That's all I asked you to do, Starr, but now, you know what? I'm going to ask you another question. What's the secret you got going with your daddy, huh?
Starr: (giggling) If I tell, it wouldn't be a secret now, would it?
Blair: I'm not laughing.
Starr: Okay. It's right here!
She goes to the door Skye's hiding behind and throws it open.
Starr: The red-haired lady!
Skye: Why, you little lying brat!
Blair: Skye!
Skye: You little two-timing, no-good --
Blair What are you doing in my daughter's room??
Starr: Can I go watch my video, When the Pets Bite Back? (not waiting for an answer) Thank you!
Starr scampers out of the room.
Blair: (calling after her) Starr Manning, you --
But she breaks off, realizing she has bigger matters at hand. She turns back to Skye.
Blair: I'm waiting!
