Todd is in his hotel room alone when a masked man -- the one who has been attacking and raping women in Llanview and framing Todd for the crimes -- breaks in and stabs him with a knife. During their struggle, Blair can be heard outside of Todd's hotel room door...she has brought a bottle of champagne with her. She knocks on the door.

Blair: Hey, Todd! Todd? Are you there?

Todd, losing blood and struggling with the rapist, cannot answer Blair.

Blair: (knocking on the door) Todd, are you there? Come on, open up! I hear you're a free man at last! Come on!

Todd falls on the ground, and Blair hears the thump.

Blair: Todd, are you all right? What's going on in there?

The rapist, wielding the bloody knife, is about to stab Todd again. Todd tries to kick him away. The rapist realizes that Blair is about to try to come in. Just as she enters the room, he hides behind the open doorway. Blair is shocked to see Todd near death on the floor. She falls to her knees next to Todd just as the rapist slips out the open doorway.

Blair: Oh my God, Todd! Oh God, are you all right? Todd, Todd can you hear me? Todd, what happened??
Todd: (weakly) He was here.
Blair: Who??
Todd: The guy in the ski mask.
Blair: What guy in what ski mask??
Todd: He was trying to kill me.
Blair: Oh my God, you mean the rapist.

Blair looks at her hands and sees how they are now covered with Todd's blood. Shaking, she runs to the phone.

Blair: Okay, Todd, all right, just wait, Todd, just stay awake all right? Stay awake, stay awake!

She calls 911 and an operator picks up.

Blair: Hello? Yes, I need an ambulance, quick! At the Quick Stop Hotel. Please, hurry!!
