Blair Brings Todd a Get Well Card

Blair comes by Todd's hospital room just in time to catch Brent trying to attack Todd. She interrupts and Brent leaves the room.

Todd: I don't think that guy wants to be my friend.
Blair: I think that guy gives me the creeps.
Todd: What are you still doing at the hospital? Don't you have a home?
Blair: Yes, but I thought that I would stop by and see how you were doing before I left.
Todd: What's with you? Why do you care how I'm doing?
Blair: Well, Todd, I did call 911, got you the ambulance, got you to the hospital, and now it's my requirement to do the follow-up to make sure that you say "Thank you," and stuff like that.
Todd: Blair, what were you doing coming to my motel room anyway? You going to break down the door and jump my bones?
Blair: No. I had heard that Marty had given you the alibi, so I had some champagne. I thought I would celebrate that your charges had been dropped, that's all.
Todd: Weird, huh. First Marty saves me with the cops.
Blair: Yeah.
Todd: Then she gives blood, saves my life.
Blair: Mm-hmm.
Todd: I guess Manning and Saybrooke are joined together for life from now on. What a joke.

Blair has brought Todd a "Get Well Soon" card with a picture of a little dog on the front. Amused, she reads the corny message to him.

Todd: Oh, God.
Blair: I know, I know -- look, when I saw this little dog here, I just -- well, it was you, and it was us, and it was just perfect! Sorry.
Todd: I especially liked the part about my sunny face and how we're such great old friends.
Blair: Well, old, new, it doesn't matter. Look, so we might compete for the Most Pathetic Award for the rest of our lives, but I'll take a friend whenever I can get one.
Todd: Listen, I -- I meant to thank you for interrupting my murder. That was really very thoughtful of you.
Blair: My pleasure.
Todd: You better look out, Blair. Saving people's lives, you're never going to win the Most Rotten Award.
Blair: I know! I know that! You keep reminding me, all right?

Then Blair changes the subject to something more serious.

Blair: So, come on, who -- who do you think is doing this to you, Todd?
Todd: I don't know. When I first started thinking about it, I said, whoever's been doing these rapes is trying to set me you, you know?
Blair: Yeah.
Todd: Now, he's not just trying to pin something on me. It's beyond that. It's personal. He came after me. He doesn't just want me behind bars. He wants me dead.
Blair: He wants you dead? Who would want you dead?
Todd: What about that guy who just had his hands around my throat when you walked in?
Blair: You mean that Brent guy?
Todd: Brent Sutton. Blair, I think that's the guy who tried to kill me.

--end scene--

Todd: Brent is a physical therapist, that puts him in the hospital. Nobody'd even notice if he was talking into the hospital parking lot.
Blair: Hm, and he is about your height, isn't he?
Todd: Yeah. And I'll tell you something, Blair, every time I see him, it's like he's all jacked up to go ten rounds.
Blair: Really?
Todd: It's like he's popping steroids or something.
Blair: You really think that this guy Brent is doing the rapes?

At that moment, Andy enters the room.

Todd: Oh, goody. It's my buddy, Andy. Andy's a rookie, Blair, you know what that means?
Blair: Uh-uh.
Todd: That means it's okay that she never knows what the hell she's doing. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm being rude. Andy, this is Blair Daimler.
Andy: (looking coolly at Blair) I know who Blair Daimler is. When you're Max Holden's sister, you know who Blair Daimler is. (looking back at Todd) I need to know if Rebecca Lewis was in here to see you.
Todd: Why?
Andy: Just answer the question.
Todd: No, me first. Why?
Andy: Okay, Rebecca Lewis was supposedly outside your motel room after you got stabbed. She saw the guy who did it.
Todd: Is she okay?
Andy: That's what we want to know! She was last seen over at St. James' Church, where she handed over the assault weapon.
Blair: She had the knife??
Todd: This is crazy.
Andy: So just answer the question: Was she in here to see you?
Todd: No. No, she --
Blair: What, Todd, what?
Todd: Well, if she saw him, if he knows that she saw him, I mean, she could be in trouble. I got to go to her.

Todd tries to get out of bed as Blair and Andy try to stop him.

--end scene--

Andy: No way, Manning!
Todd: I got to get out of here!
Blair: No, you are going to get out of here when the doctors say --
Todd: Look, Rebecca's in trouble, I got to stop this guy before he hurts --
Andy: Listen up, Manning! First of all, you've got an abdominal wound. If it opens up, you could die. And second, catching the guy who did this to you, that's a job for the police.
Todd: Well then do your job, all right? Get out there! Save her! Protect her! Catch this guy! Do something!
Andy: FINE! Yell at your friend Blair here. Just stay put!

Andy storms out of the room. Todd looks up at Blair, whose hand is resting on his shoulder.

Todd: Blair?
Blair: Mm-hmm?
Todd: I need your help.

--end scene--

Blair goes outside Todd's hospital room and starts flirting with the police officer who's been stationed there. She's successful in luring the officer away from his post, which gives Todd the opportunity to sneak out of the room.

When Blair returns to the room, she finds Andy sulking over Todd's disappearance. Andy suspects Blair of helping Todd escape. Bo arrives and informs Andy and Blair that Rebecca is considered a suspect in Todd's stabbing. Blair defends Rebecca, explaining to Andy and Bo that if Todd left the hospital room it was to go save Rebecca from the real rapist.
